We have already discussed the topic of games with co-op. But with a network cooperative. But there are also games with co-op, but without multiplayer. Games for two on one PC, with or without split screen, but most importantly - without multiplayer. There are many such games, but I will talk about ten, choosing one from each genre.

Worms is a timeless game, especially if you have someone to play it with. Your opponent should not be too small or too old. It’s impossible to play this with a three-year-old brother or an 80-year-old grandmother, because the opponent must have a normal eye, understand the consequences of certain physical phenomena, and be able to read. The undoubted advantage of the game is that it can easily run on computers 10 years old and does not require additional gamepads. All you need is one, deep office computer with a keyboard and mouse, and that’s it. A large number of maps, a bunch of weapons, the ability to use equipment, and enjoy the old voice acting of yesteryear - included. Of course, you don't need any Internet.

Of course, when it comes to gaming on a single PC, a bunch of fighting games immediately come to mind. Well, what is our most important fighting game at the moment? I don’t know about you, but until Tekken 7 came out, there is simply no alternative to NetherRealm Studios’ creation. In addition to multiplayer and a single-player campaign, you can quite comfortably fight on the same screen together. Moreover, as practice shows, if instead of a monitor you bring a hefty TV from the hall and connect it, the effect will be much better. Naturally, you don’t need any Internet connection. The game runs smoothly in offline mode. As for the relative disadvantages, there is one: you will need two gamepads. You can, of course, get by with just one, but then you or a friend will have to use the keyboard, which is not very convenient. By the way, in the same Mortal Kombat 10 it was possible to play together on one keyboard. Try it, maybe this feature is also relevant in Mortal Kombat X.

Among adventure platformers, I would like to highlight this game, which few people know about. This game is interesting, and not at all boring, as it might seem to someone at first glance. There is a great, suspenseful atmosphere, challenging puzzles, a lot of tasks for dexterity and coordination of joint actions. Two main characters: a girl and a magical arctic fox, set off on a dangerous adventure, the ending of which will include an absolutely impressive boss. Controls can again be varied by combining a keyboard with a gamepad, but regular Xbox-shaped controllers will certainly work much better in our case. Well, if you beat the campaign, ask for the “underwater” add-on called Fox Tales, it’s worth it.

It rarely happens that your friend turns out to be the same football fan as you. As a rule, in most groups of boys, there is only one football player. Maximum two, and even then, the second one prefers to play live, for example, or watch real football on TV. I’m talking about all this because it’s very difficult to force, let alone teach, how to play FIFA someone who has never played anything like this and doesn’t plan to play it. But, if you are lucky and your friend knows what’s what in this football series, then take the last, 17th part. It has physics, graphics, and a number of other aspects that turned out best. You open the single-player mode offline, set up controls, and play on one screen without any Internet connection. You can play both against each other and together in one team, against the computer. When it comes to a penalty, of course, you need to hide your hands so that the opponent does not see where you are aiming.

Ubisoft has released a re-release of the third part of Heroes of Might and Magic, but even if you don't have this game, a simple, folk HD version of Heroes will also do just fine. Among turn-based strategies, and indeed among strategies in general, the third Heroes are ahead of the rest. The game is a masterpiece. It continues to remain relevant for more than 15 years now, and there is an opinion that it will remain so for at least as long. In general, be that as it may, in this game we have not only an excellent thing for playing alone, or over the Internet, but also on one PC without a split screen. True, there is a nuance: both you and your opponent will see what is happening with each other, so you need to either turn away, or then play in the same team against artificial intelligence. Well, you also need to know the rather complicated rules of this game, because it will be extremely difficult for someone who is seeing Heroes for the first time to play this right away.

Among the 2D action puzzle games for two on one PC, it's hard to find an alternative to this game. There is also a third part, but it was not the most successful, and part No. 2 is currently the best. The meaning of the gameplay is simple: you are given three heroes - a warrior, a mage and an archer. Each of them has their own abilities. By using these abilities, you and your partner will have to solve puzzles in order to move forward. The bulk of the tasks are based on physics and logic, but there are some that will require dexterity. Another feature of the game is that it is very beautiful and has simple controls. Almost anyone who has at least occasionally held a gamepad in their hands can play Trine 2.

Among 2D action adventure games, without any puzzles, this game, in my opinion, also stands out. In addition, the general public knows absolutely nothing about it, and it’s completely in vain, because the game is excellent. Excellent and complex. But for two, of course, the sea is knee-deep. It will be impossible to just start the passage together. Someone will have to run around alone for a bit, get a special artifact, accept faith, and only then invite a partner. This is all quite simple, and there are tutorials on the Internet on this topic. The main thing in our case is to find someone willing to plunge into the extremely dark world of this parody of Dark Souls. But, okay, just gloomy. It is also ruthless, and, yes, you will definitely need gamepads, because managing the gameplay via the keyboard is pure self-torture.

At the beginning, I said that I would choose one, the most worthy representative from each genre. And here, it seems, is also a 2D action game, albeit not gloomy, but even cheerful. But this is still a different genre, because the most interesting thing here that might appeal to someone who plans to play together on one PC is PvP shooting. In addition to the single-player campaign, which we are not very interested in, there is a quick battle mode. You open it, choose a map, choose a weapon set for the game, and go into battle. The idea is simple: shoot your enemy before he shoots you. Despite the apparent cartoonish frivolity, this shooter, made in a comedic style with a twist on films about Italian mafia, will require all your strength, because you will have to act quickly. The game is more interesting than it seems, and if you give your opponent a little practice, then extremely dynamic battles await you, which will bring as much fun as any full-fledged online shooter will not bring - tested in practice.

Of course, we need to remember about racing. There were plenty of options. The same Valentino Rossi the Game is also okay, but personally I would choose this Ubisoft creation, which, firstly, is fun, secondly, has extremely fast gameplay, when one single mistake will deprive your opponent of a chance to win, and thirdly, The game is not at all demanding and is perfectly optimized. Well, and fourthly, you can get by with just one gamepad and hand your partner the keyboard, fortunately, it’s quite convenient to control it here. To sit down for this you need to play good mood. Then the reaction to mistakes made will be appropriate. One made a mistake, went broke, the other had fun. The other one made a mistake and went crazy - the first one had fun. This way you can play for several hours in a row and go home in complete satisfaction.

I thought about putting Magick here, but I decided that Arrowhead Game Studios had a more worthy, and, importantly, lesser-known game. In fact, this is a third-person shooter with a top-down view, in which heavily armed space marines carry out various tasks while fighting crowds of aliens. The game turned out to be very fun and not at all difficult. Anyone who picks up a gamepad will figure out what's what in 5 minutes. Ignoring online battles, devoting yourself to completing the single-player campaign, you will receive more than a hundred hours of gameplay: not the most varied, but catchy. And in general, planning an attack and defense together, shouting at an ally, saying, don’t go there, go here, is much more interesting than going through a campaign in splendid isolation.

These were the most exciting offline games for two on one PC. But you certainly have your own representatives. If so, then tell us about them in the comments. Well, that's all. Play only good games, and let no one leave beaten.

Why do we all love so much Online Games? First of all, for the opportunity to play together. After all, this is where we can gather a team of friends - or strangers - and go beat some particularly powerful boss. Or, on the contrary, go to PvP and have fun with the characters of other players. Or maybe you want to duel with someone? This is also possible. There are many different MMOs, and there are plenty of options for interacting with other players.

But if you need a game that can be played by two (three, four) on one computer? What should all hotseat lovers play? It’s more complicated here, and the choice, at first glance, is not so great. But nonetheless, games you can play together on the same PC, not so little. And we are ready to provide you with our top 10 such toys.

10. FIFA 15

This game can definitely be recommended to all fans of sports simulators. And to recommend it to football fans... Perhaps it’s simply pointless - they are probably already familiar with it, and very well. It has everything - realistic physics, beautiful graphics, an interesting career mode. There is also a hotsit mode - that is, you can play together with one keyboard or using joysticks. Overall, I highly, highly recommend it.

9. Grid 2

It was impossible not to include this magnificent race from Codemasters in this top. It has everything a good racing simulator needs - really high-quality graphics, excellent motion physics (which is especially good when you fly off the track again), easy-to-learn controls, which, however, are not simplified beyond the necessary. And, as a bonus, the opportunity to tear apart a beautiful sports car almost into parts. And, in addition, there is a split-screen mode, thanks to which the game can be played just fine by two people. In general, play for your health.

8. Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team

Recommended, first of all, to all fans of the Warhammer universe. Or for those who like dynamic action games in which the screen is constantly splashed with something red. Here we have four classes to choose from - two melee specialists, and two marksmen. And we also have a task - to clear the huge ship on which the orcs are flying to the Empire from everything, at least theoretically living. We play in third person mode. The campaign can be completed by two people, and in addition, you can try the survival mode (also for two). It is available on those maps that you have already opened during the course of the storyline, and is designed to test your strength. In general, there are no special frills, but the game is addictive.

7. Galacide

Very funny thing. To be honest, it was very difficult to determine the genre of this creation. Looks like we're in control spaceship– but there’s no smell of simulators here. Everything happens in 2D. And the gameplay is reminiscent of some strange hybrid of Tetris and Arkanoid, and even with an admixture of classic Lines. And at the end of each level a boss awaits us. In general, I don’t know what to call it. There are several different ships, there is a cooperative. Only for one PC, but can be played by up to 4 people. And despite the weird, vague genre (or maybe because of it), Galacide is fun to play.

6. Magicka 2

It was impossible to ignore this fun arcade game. It can't boast of any incredible graphics, but that's not its main advantage. Here we have a serviceable plot based on Norse myths and sprinkled with a good dose of humor. Eat interesting system magic, which can give odds to many other fantasy projects. And there is a great co-op that will allow you to while away the evening with friends. Although, I’m understating it – you’ll spend much more than one evening playing this game. Magicka 2 is one of the few games that are designed specifically for team play. There are too many enemies here for a single person. And all the delights of “friendly fire” (friendly fire, in English) can only be experienced in a cooperative. Have fun playing together!

5. Lara Croft and the temple of Osiris

Another game from the Tomb Rider series, which, however, is done quite well. The plot does not shine with particular originality - after all, only the lazy have not trampled on the topic of Egyptian myths. And in the Tomb Raider series, our heroine goes to Egypt in almost every part of the game. However, about the plot - this time Lara joins forces with another adventurer, Carter Bell, and two Egyptian gods - Horus and Isis. Together they must piece together Osiris and defeat the evil god Set. Lots of references to Egyptian mythology (the developers clearly did not neglect to study this topic) and excellent gameplay designed for several players - all this is Lara Croft and the temple of Osiris.

4.Resident Evil 6

Do we need to introduce this game? After all, Resident Evil is perhaps the standard of zombie games. Here we have beautiful graphics, for which I would like to especially thank the designers, and excellent gameplay, both dynamic and frightening, and a good plot. I must say that the developers clearly liked the idea from the fifth part of the game (two people could also play there, if that), and they decided to go further. Now we have even more interaction with partners, there are also more partners themselves, and in general, Resident Evil has become less about lone heroes and more about well-coordinated teamwork. And then... then I’ll just recommend that you play this wonderful toy with your friends.

3. Eador: Lords of the Worlds and Eador: Creation

That's right, two games. True, they do not differ that much. To be honest, Lords of the Worlds is the same Eador: Creation, but with more beautiful graphics (in the first part it was somewhere on the level of the second Heroes of Might and Magic, and even without animation), with a shorter campaign and with some additions to the gameplay. The game should appeal to all fans of thoughtful turn-based strategies. It must be said that Eador has one drawback - it is difficult to master. A huge tree of buildings in the castle (to be honest, even titans like Civilization are nervously smoking on the sidelines), a very interesting combat system (which can only be rivaled by King’s Bounty) - all this has to be mastered long and hard. But an interesting campaign and a well-made hotsite completely make up for this shortcoming. So, go ahead, conquerors!

2. Mortal Combat X

The tenth part of the cult fighting game has appeared on PC. As always, no censorship, only blood and cruelty on the screen. Therefore, it is better to keep small children and impressionable women away from the monitor. And don’t try to repeat all this in reality! But seriously, this game is suitable for co-op with friends like no other. There will be no co-op here - only PvP. And the emotions when your friend destroys your favorite fighter with his fatality. However, maybe everything will be different, and you yourself will wipe the noses of your bosom rivals. In general, I won’t describe Mortal Kombat for a long time, I’d rather just wish you good luck in the upcoming battles!

1. Heroes of Might and Magic III-V

Well, we’ve reached the first game in our top. To be honest, I couldn’t choose one part out of the seven that have been released so far. Heroes of Might and Magic VII was released on September 29, I haven’t played it yet. In the end, I decided to focus on three parts - the third, fourth and fifth. Briefly describe the gameplay? Well, if you are not familiar with Heroes... We choose a castle, rebuild it, gather an army and develop a hero. Heroes develop in battles. You also need to collect resources along the way, capture sources of these resources and enemy castles. And don’t forget about artifacts - they also need to be collected. Well, that's all. All parts of the series have a superbly implemented hotsit, which is why it simply could not be ignored. Oh yes, one more thing - when you gain some experience in the game - tell me which castle is the best, okay?

If you're looking for something to play together on PC, you've come to the right place - this selection contains the best games with local multiplayer for 2018.

We've combined a variety of genres and visual styles into one list, from casual cartoon adventures to gritty realistic survival games. Stock up on beer and snacks, and invite your friends - you'll need time to appreciate them all.

1. LEGO – any part of the franchise

3. Worms is still fun

Just imagine, over the past 23 years, 30 different games in the Worms series have been released. The worms were flat and three-dimensional, fired from a bazooka, threw sheep and won hearts with good humor.

Video games Worms W.M.D.

The new part of “Worms” is good not only because it manages to evoke an attack of nostalgia, it is really made with high quality, taking into account the most successful mechanics from past games.

The game is good, but it’s not suitable for an evening with company - take a vacation from work, you’ll need several dozen hours of free time. And this is only for the first playthrough.

6. Hero Siege – or any other roguelike

The beauty of rogue-like games is in short levels, tons of enemies, mountains of loot and endless playthroughs alone and with friends. "Hero Siege" is a worthy representative of the genre.

Most roguelikes use pixel graphics, which means they usually don't slow down even on the most weak computers. We advise you to pay attention to!

7. Cuphead is the most classic platformer

9. The Escapists 2 – one of the most interesting games of 2017

10. A Way Out - impossible to go alone

And the list ends with one of the most interesting and anticipated games of 2018 - “A Way Out” tells another story of two criminals escaping from prison together (but in fact they are kind of innocent).

Video games A Way Out

It's funny that despite its apparent simplicity, the game became one of the most anticipated projects at E3 2017. By the way, the appearance of the characters was copied from the developers.

And remember - any game becomes more fun if you play it in good company, but it is still better to take into account the interests of others by finding out about your preferred genres in advance. We hope we haven't missed anything?

So, let me introduce the top ten games for two players. If you are looking for something to do with your free evening or weekend, take a faithful friend with you and go ahead and conquer any of the games in this ten. It doesn’t matter whether you like adrenaline-pumping action or brainstorming, there’s sure to be entertainment for you in the top.

10. Red Alert 3

The current latest part of a series of real-time strategies as old as time pleased us not only with excellent humor and interesting gameplay, but also interesting feature, which at that time was very unusual for the genre, namely, the cooperative passage of the campaign. Alas, the developers did not seem to have much faith that co-op would become a popular entertainment. Even on maximum difficulty, completing the campaign together is unlikely to be at all an impossible task. But if you and your friend are a fan of strategy games and want to while away the evening enjoying a hefty “cranberry” and crazy missions, then Red Alert 3 will be an excellent choice.

9. Dead Island

A local zombie apocalypse has occurred on a huge tropical island and the main characters, naturally, find themselves at the center of it. Such a simple plot leads to at least ten to twenty hours of excellent bloody battle called Dead Island. Despite the fact that the developers clearly borrowed some ideas from their neighbors from our top, the game is capable of delivering pleasure. Especially if you go to the dead island not alone, but accompanied by three faithful friends.

8. Payday 2

If you are a fan of fiction about the underworld, heists and other “highway romance,” then this game will undoubtedly appeal to you. Please love and respect, Payday 2- a successful continuation of the no less successful first part. As before, here you will have to organize daring robberies of banks, vaults and other “fishing” places, with the support of three comrades (playing Payday 2 alone is highly not recommended). There is room here for both intense stealth missions and adrenaline-pumping Left4Dead-style shootouts. Be sure to try it, engaging in criminal activities has never been so exciting.

7. The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth

A most exciting rogue-like game that is seriously addictive. Don't be fooled appearance, this simple-looking “adventure game” will take at least a month of your life. The game is simply crammed with content and in one playthrough it is possible to cover only one hundredth of a percent of all this splendor. According to the creators, just to see most of the content in the game will take at least five hundred hours of pure gameplay. Without a doubt, this is one of the best indie games ever made, and certainly the best of the last couple of years. And be sure to find a friend with whom you will explore the mysterious cellars.

6.Resident Evil 6

Cult series of games. There are dozens of projects released about this world, and many of them feature cooperative playthroughs. So why do we recommend focusing your attention on the sixth part, which, by the way, many consider not the most successful? The fact is that where the disadvantages of single-player modes end, the advantages of multiplayer modes begin. The game, alas, has gone far from its roots and has finally turned into a large-scale and spectacular action movie, and if we look at it from this angle, it turned out not so bad. And of course, all this madness is much more interesting to watch in company than alone, so Resident Evil 6– an excellent choice for co-op play. It won't scare you, but you will definitely enjoy it.

5. Borderlands 2

It was difficult to imagine that the developers from Gearbox Software will be able to outshine themselves, but it happened, and how! The second part fully preserved the style of the original, but at the same time introduced a bunch of necessary changes into the gameplay and introduced us to many colorful characters. It’s difficult to expect a fascinating plot from a Diablo-like game, but it is present here and keeps you glued to the computer even when the gameplay begins to get a little boring. And the game gets its second wind at a local co-op. You don't just play this game, you really enjoy it.

4.Left 4 Dead 2

Why Left 4 Dead 2 is this one of the best online shooters of all time? In order to get an answer to this question, you definitely need to try it. The answer will come by itself when you furiously shout into the microphone “There’s a hunter on me!” Don’t leave me, save my ***!!!”, while your teammates will use their last strength to make their way to the safety shelter, giving up on you. Or maybe you will understand this by giving the last painkiller to your teammate, at a moment when the strength has already left everyone, there is no longer any hope of salvation and all that remains is to sell your life at a higher price. But trying to convey this atmosphere in words, although it is possible, will not work very well.

3.Portal 2

And if you are not carried away by the bloody frenzy of Left 4 Dead 2, welcome to another masterpiece from Valve. No less (and maybe more) fascinating - Portal 2. If the single player campaign has already been completed and you want to once again give the maximum load to your brain, welcome to the delightful online mode, in which you and your friend try on the skin of two charming laboratory robots. Here the puzzles become truly confusing, and you will have to rack your brain even more than in the single-player campaign. Well, if you haven’t played the first part, then Portal 2 can give you a real spatial shock. The feeling is indescribable.

2.Nosgoth

This game has everything to become the best cooperative game in our top. She has a famous name (Events take place in the legendary universe Legacy of Cain), interesting gameplay and stylish, dark design, made in the best traditions of the series. Fights in Nosgoth turned out incredibly well. It's a great balance between action and tactics, backed by varied gameplay for each of the characters. Playing as humans or vampires, you and your team of loyal comrades will have to think through every step and develop a strategy for each individual game. After all, one small mistake and your opponents will deal with you without mercy.

More and more players are paying attention to this exciting MMOTPS in a space setting. What is it about her that captivates? A huge number of possibilities coupled with interesting gameplay. By gathering a team of friends for joint gaming sessions, you can have a lot of fun and get lost in these randomly generated levels for a long time.
